What is Photography ??

We Hear the term Photography almost everyday, but have we ever think what it really means, and from where did this term came ??

Photography is a term combined from two sections:

1- Photo: which is mean Light.

2- graphy: which is mean Drawing

so Photography mainly means drawing with light.

Now lets get deeper in the meaning of photography and where did it came from.

History of Photography:

the first person to ever think of photography and it’s mechanism is the arab Physicist and the Optics scientist al-Hsan Ibn al-Haytham, who started to think about the eye and how it work’s, then he tried to make a similar machine to do the job as the eye do, so he invented “qomra”, which is a dark room with a small hole in one side of it, the light enters the hole and reflect’s an image on the opposite wall upside down.

from here it all starts…

after that several scientist developed on “qomra” till now and it’s still in a continuous development, every day we have new inventions for cameras and Photography machines.

The mechanism of Photography:

the machine we use nowadays called “Camera, the camera is basically build from lenses, mirror sensor, processor, prism. these are the main components in all cameras.

to get a picture the light across throw the lenses and reflects on the sensor, then the processor process the light, flip it and store it in the camera storage.

this is a basic description for camera work to make it easy to understand, and not to complex it.

in the next article we will talk deeply about DSLR cameras and How does it work.
